Eye on Greenview Crime Prevention Campaign

Welcome to the Greenview Industrial Business Improvement Area crime prevention resources page. We aim through collaboration with Greenview Industrial business and through proactive planning and attainable initiatives to achieve a reduction to the impact of area business related crimes.

Below are resources on how to keep your business and business community safe.

REPORT, REPORT!

We know reporting takes time and sometimes we don't see any benefit in doing so. But reporting IS important. If we don't report then the city and the CPS don’t have records of our need for general improvements or more police surveillance. Attached are links to apps and websites that WILL in the long term make a difference to your and the GIBIA community.

Stay connected on Facebook: Click here to join the Calgary Police District 3 Facebook page for CPS updates on suspicious activity, crime and success stories.

Break and Entry / Theft

  • The best way to inform the city of break-ins and provide the accurate stats for increased service is to report. If we or the police do not know of the crime in the area then they will not send resources our way. Please call the Calgary Police Non-Emergency line at 403-266-1234 to report a break-in. Other crimes can be reported here CopLogic - Link here

  • Please report break-in or vandalism to us as well submit here so we have data as the CPS and 311 are not able to share these stats with us due to FOIP and security.

Graffiti Abatement

  • We have started a BIA initiated pilot graffiti abatement program in partnership with Fresh Start. If your business has been hit with graffiti and you would like us to cover it please let us know at info@greenviewindustrial.com

  • The BIA is working on an initiative to reduce vandalism long term. If you would like to be part of our mural installation initiative please contact us here

311 App - Link here to download the easy to use phone app.

  • Things easy to report: Potholes, dumping, social outreach, loitering, back-lane maintenance, sidewalk repair, burnt out street lights and other bylaw infractions. Note that reporting graffiti may incur fines for your neighbours.

Know Your NeighboUrs

One of the best ways to prevent crime is to know who you neighbors are, their hours of operation and what they drive. A simple, ‘hey I haven't seen you before’ to a stranger in the area shows them we are united. Ask them some questions they wouldn't otherwise know the answers to and feel free to call your neighbor to confirm if that gut is telling you something is off.
